Hair Growth Treatment Q&A
PRP hair therapy is a non-surgical procedure that helps restore hair growth. Platelet-rich plasma contains a variety of fruitful proteins that work to regenerate cells and particles in the scalp.
First, the blood is drawn. Then, a centrifuge spins the blood and separates it into 3 categories: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells. Finally, platelet-rich plasma is injected back into the scalp.
Because the growth cycles of hair follicles are 3 months, the results require patience. We recommend 3-6 treatments with a 4-6 week interval. For consistent results, upkeep treatments are advised every 3-6 months.
A week before the procedure, avoid any blood-thinning or anti-inflammatory medications. Minimize alcohol and nicotine consumption and maximize fluid intake. Day of procedure, eat a good breakfast, and take a hot shower.
This is definitely not one of those procedures where you see the result the day after, but it is so worth it! My hair post-pregnancy became thin, weak, and would fall out in clumps! My girlfriends recommended Dr. Tania de Klerk and I’ve never looked back.
